The transport sector has been one of the challenging sectors in India. Even today it is among one of the fastest growing sectors. Currently, the transport sector is one of the major contributors of CO2 emission. An assessment carried out by Central Pollution Control Board surveyed that 75 percent cities are at very high risk of PM10 levels. Out of these, 50 percent of cities have the critical level of NOx as well.

There is a huge need for the country to shift itself to electric vehicles and save the environment and with this vision in mind, India has aimed to go electric by 2030.
